Job Qualifications & Requirements:
An Oklahoma City-based political consulting firm is looking to hire graphic designers to assist with the 2012 election cycle. The firm will begin conducting interviews immediately and are looking to hire quickly.
Proficiencies needed:
• Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat to create concepts and designs for campaigns, both print and electronic, with high attention to detail.
• Microsoft Office Suite.
Abilities:
• Successfully take multiple projects from concept to completion often times in pressure situations, while meeting tight deadlines.
• Quick turnaround time producing 3-4 new mailpieces a day while making edits and changes to other pieces.
• Strong project coordination with meticulous attention to detail and follow-thru.
• Strong editing and proofing skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willing to take initiative; must be self-motivated; must use time and resources effectively.
• Excellent customer service attitude, positive and energetic attitude.
Essential Job Functions:
The Graphic Designer must be skilled in print design (primary), web design is a plus but not required. This position requires a combination of strategic thinking, creativity and technical proficiency to create graphics that support campaign and communication efforts.
1. Create high-quality graphic design work with a quick turnaround. Must be able to maintain client image and reputation through all media while creating designs for a wide variety of projects including logos, statewide and local campaigns, brochures, direct mail, presentations and web graphics. Integrate designs across mediums. Coordinate with account managers to identify graphic design needs, audiences, and objectives and create solutions. Provide outstanding customer service and maintain positive relationships.
2. Coordinate a variety of incoming project requests while being flexible. Take projects from concept to completion independently and with meticulous attention to detail. Meet multiple stringent deadlines with strong organization and scheduling skills. Be self-motivated with an ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
3. Possess knowledge of commercial printing standards and practices. Knowledge of paper, ink and printing. Work with outside providers (printers, sign makers, advertisers/publications) regarding technical specifications and requirements, file transfer options, etc. Provide print vendors with complete package files for output.
4. Work together as part of the consulting team to assist with brainstorming.
5. Perform other duties and assume responsibilities as may be required to accomplish the essential job functions as assigned by the Creative and Art Directors.
