Join the Oklahoma City Ad Club for a fun filled, educational (and sure to be controversial) meeting as we explore emerging social media (such as Twitter, Facebook, Myspace) with our very own Panel of experts including:
- Andrea Decker, Consulting Director, Element Fusion (Twitter @KermitRocks)
- Jennie Melendez, Communications Manager, Oklahoma Blood Institute (Twitter @OkBlood)
- JD Merryweather, Owner, Coop Ale Works (Twitter @jdmerryweather)
- Tyler Smith, President, Traction Marketing Group (Twitter @flipsideokc)
- Daniel Solis, Social Media Strategist, Third Degree (Twitter @danielsolis)
Nobody can deny the impact of social media on the advertising business. If you've ever wondered whether to embrace social media or fight it like the enemy that is killing your industry, you are not alone. Many advertising executives are grappling with not only understanding social media but finding ways to leverage it for their own businesses and those of their clients.
Please join us Wednesday, July 8 at 11:30 at the Will Rogers Theatre as we tackle the topic head on. (Guests are $20.)
Andrea Decker will moderate the panel. Andrea serves as one of our board of directors and has volunteered to lead us this day. Her goal is for everyone who attends to leave the meeting with a confident understanding of just what exactly social media is and how to leverage it in their own businesses. Andrea jokes about being an old woman in a GenY world, and a non-geek in a technical world. The truth is that she is 45 and hasn't got much more than a clue about anything technical. But she speaks just enough geek to help translate the tech-speak in to plain English for the rest of us. She promises not to turn you into a Twitterholic.
If you'd like to submit a dumb question ahead of time, please complete this form. She'll be happy to call you out and embarrass you in front of the entire club.
