Social Media & Marketing Intern

Qualifications & Requirements

Responsibilities: • Social media management and content creation for Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook • Assist Director of Development and Marketing with various marketing tasks including curation of monthly newsletters, event promotions, and other duties as assigned • Performs research to find articles, stories, resources, or other content that is relevant to our audiences and posts it to our social media accounts • Assist with upkeep of social media analytics: Track and review social media analytics and develop reports to deliver to Marketing Committee. Requirements: • Minimum 2nd-year college student in related degree program (communications, marketing, etc.) • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to work with limited supervision • Strong organizational and analytical skills • Desire to learn, lead and work in a team environment and individually • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Word and PPT • Working knowledge of Adobe CS products is a plus (but not required) • Interest/Knowledge in adolescent sexual health and education is a plus

Thrive is leading a public-private collaboration to reduce the teen birth rate in Central Oklahoma. Oklahoma’s teen birth rate is the second highest in the nation, and Oklahoma County has the highest number of teen births in the state. Pregnancy and parenting among teens results in greater risks of poverty, health issues, unstable housing and employment, and food insecurity. Thrive’s collaboration created a bold vision to reduce the teen birth rate in Oklahoma County by one third by 2020. Weekly Hours Candidate must be available to work a range of 10-20 hours per week. Internship hours will be coordinated to fit the student’s class schedule and meet course credit requirements. Compensation This is an unpaid internship position. Internship hours may be eligible to receive course credit through a university program.
