The Grants Manager secure funding for the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma by identifying, qualifying, cultivating, solicitation and stewarding gifts from foundations and grants for the purpose of funding the Regional Food Bank’s needs. The Grants Manager will collaborate closely with program and development staff to secure information for proposals and reports. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop an annual plan identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding activities for more than 120 foundations, placing a special emphasis on reporting and submission deadlines: Identify and research new funding opportunities for the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma using the internet, relationships with existing funders and information obtained from Regional Food Bank staff and volunteers. Plan strategically for foundation gift growth based on the development department’s annual goals and the Regional Food Bank’s long-term goals and strategic growth plans: Write and serve as primary grant writer for all grants and proposals produced by the Regional Food Bank. Serve as the Regional Food Bank’s primary contact for all grant and foundation-related questions with the exception of a small group of foundations that work directly with the CEO and Chief Advancement Officer Cultivate personal relationships with foundation program officers, Regional Food Bank staff, volunteers, community leaders and others as appropriate to solicit and submit funding requests to foundations; Submit grant requests to foundations through a variety methods, including letters requesting financial support, letters of inquiry, full grant proposals and formal presentations; Provide funding request information for funding applications and reports in formats consistent with the Regional Food Bank’s policies on financial, donor and program information; Conduct tours and lead presentations for foundations, granting organizations and other community groups. Coordinate foundation site visits to the Regional Food Bank, and when appropriate, include other members of the team. Steward new and existing foundation donors through required grant reporting, in-person meetings and supplemental stewardship reports created according to established Regional Food Bank guidelines; Work with Regional Food Bank accounting, database and program staff to ensure that all foundation and grant gifts are credited appropriately in the Regional Food Bank’s accounting systems and used according to donor guidelines; Develop and implement special donor events as needed; Obtain publicity as necessary for gifts by working with the Regional Food Bank’s marketing and communications team; Maintain current foundation and grant information in the Regional Food Bank’s database, including key foundation contacts, proposal details, foundation summaries and upcoming deadlines; Track the status of requests for funding and follow up when necessary; Participate in other duties as required by the supervisor, director or CEO, such as presentations and special events outside the Regional Food Bank.
